Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has insists that, Daniel Sturridge will not leaving the club in January. The England international and Chelsea striker who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, has been assured of a space in the squad and will still remain with the Blues Di Matteo said. "He is still in my plans and will not be sold when the transfer window re-opens".
Sturridge has struggled for first-team action and there have been constant rumours linking him with a move away from the Bridge when the January transfer window re-opens. Liverpool Sunderland and Arsenal are both said to be interested but after watching him score in the midweek Capital one Cup victory over Manchester United, Di Matteo says the youngster is going nowhere.
"I get asked about speculation but I am very happy with him," the boss revealed. "He scored a goal and had a number of good chances. He's our striker and as far as I'm concerned he's part of this team."
