Sexton enjoyed a superb spell as Blues manager in the Seventies, becoming the first man to lead the club to FA Cup glory after a memorable tussle with Leeds United in 1970, while he was also the manager when the club tasted glory in Europe for the first time as they incredibly saw off Real Madrid.
"He was fantastic and I've got nothing but praise for him," said Peter Bonetti, who was between the sticks for both of those triumphs.
