As tension still Brews over the QPR Vs Chelsea Pre-Match Handshake today, both clubs are looking for ways to find the possible solution to avoid a focus on this saga with Ferdinand stressing that he would not shake hands with the former England captain.
Others might suggest that, there is no reason for Anton Ferdinand to skip John Terry's hand but the QPR defender has his own good reasons for his action. His team mate and England forward Bobby Zamora claims that, he will shake John Terry's hand if it was him.
Today Saturday's Premier League fixtures includes a West London derby between QPR and Chelsea at Loftus Road. This is the first time the two clubs meet again after the last season fixtures which QPR won 1-0, saw the dispute between QPR defender Anton Ferdinand and Chelsea's John Terry which led to the trial of the former England and current Chelsea captain for the supposed use of a racial slur.
As the clubs meet again, the tension over the pre-match hand shake is still bubbling as it looks like Ferdinand is prepared to shun shaking hands with both Terry and Cole when they come face to face.
Terry was found not guilty and cleared for the alleged abuse in court, and Ashley Cole came on to testify as a defence witness for Terry in the case. Although the FA are still investigating these charges which Terry denies and a date set ahead for hearing. Now the two clubs are in talks over the situation to profer solutions before the match.
Meanwhile, Zamora, a long-time friend of Terry's, has claimed that focus is not on the handshake but the football match, confirming that he will shake Terry's hand, if it was him. It is set to be a tense and intriguing spectacle, but hopes are that the game will be remembered for footballing reasons and not overshadowed by the pre-match formalities.
If i were Ferdinand, i would shake Terry but i won't let him score if he eventually pulls in for a corner kick header.
