Last week, the club manager announced
that Malouda will not be part of his plans this season campaign and the club ordered
that he should be training with the Under-21 youth team. Malouda was furious when ask to play for the youth friendly match.
The French wingers name is also omitted
from the Champions League squad list. Despite this report, Di Matteo has
dismissed any prospect of the player’s revolt in the dressing room relating to
Malouda’s issue. Stressing that, the Chelsea
players are very much comfortable with the club’s decision and are now focused
for the upcoming matches.
Malouda, whose contract expires next summer, vented
his frustration by revealing the news on Twitter but did not succeed in mobilizing his team-mates as reports stated, according to Di Matteo.
"They
have accepted the decision that has been made by us, and they're just going to
focus on their targets for this season," he said.
"Over the past,
there's been some expression of the player to part company, but it hasn't
happened. "So we've moved forward, brought in other players and they're
the ones we're going to work with this season. "It was a combined decision
between me and the club. It's obviously not an extremely positive message or
decision for him, but I guess, at the end, we have to look after our own
interests and that's the decision we've taken."
Malouda was included in
the club’s submission for the first half of the Barclays Premier League despite
been banish and his name omitted from the Champions League group stages. When asked
if he had played his last game for the European champions for the Blue, Roberto Di Matteo
said:
"I don't know, only the future will tell. But he's with the
under-21s now. "The transfer window doesn't open again until January."
Meanwhile, it has been reported that, Malouda will be leaving for Lyon in January. Until then, lets see what holds for the French man at Stamford Bridge.
