Chelsea has long been looking for a right back to replace Jose Bosingwa who has left after his contract expired with Chelsea. The blues has
long been trying to woo Spanish International Cesar Azpilicueta from the French
side Marseille. A source has now disclosed that Chelsea
is very close in completing the deal to sign the Marseille defender to Stamford Bridge.
It is understood that the
Spaniards representatives are now in London
putting the finishing touches on the move, with Chelsea believed to be paying between €8-10
million for the talented defender. We all know that Roberto Di Matteo has been
desperately looking to sign a right back this summer to fill the slot let
behind following the departure of Jose Bosingwa to Queens Park Rangers. But now
it’s obvious that the search is completely over and it’s not just another
speculation.
The 23 year-old is set to undergo a medical at the club and agree
terms on a long-term contract, but it is unlikely for him to play in Sundays
Premier League opener against Wigan Athletic as the deal will still have some
final touches to be completed. Cesar Azpilicueta, welcome to Stamford Bridge
