Roberto MartÃnez insists Chelsea should be straightforward about their
striker, Victor Moses and they should stop beating around the bush. The Wigan
boss has accused the Lancashire club for harming the player's preparation ahead
of the new season's campaign which coincidentally will be against Chelsea on Sunday at the
DW stadium. Clubs are in a race now to get their best signings before the end
of the transfer window and Chelsea
needs a new striker and a right back. Spanish International and Maseille's
defender Cesar Azpilicueta is on the verge to joining the blues very soon, Hulk
is still on radar while Victor Moses is said to be a mere speculation which
Martinez has criticize Chelsea for.
The West London side had made
more than three separate bids for the Nigerian International but it was
rejected on all occasion with Wigan insisting
that, their striker worth more than the bidding prize. Chelsea's last bidding prize was £8.5 million
but the Latics want £10 million for Moses. Now Wigan manager Martinez
has criticized Chelsea
for not meeting the club's valuation to seal the transfer of Victor
Moses.
Moses scored six goals last season and played a
major part in helping the Latics survive relegation and Martinez has claimed that the dragging saga
is strongly affecting Moses preparation ahead of the start of their new Premier
League season. "If you don't meet a valuation, it becomes paper talk and
speculation," he said. "It happens everywhere, it gives you
uncertainty and I don't think that helps. The players are human beings."
Moses contract at the DW stadium will expire at
the end of the season but Wigan boss is keen
on holding the player to stay if eventually he couldn't sign for any club
adding that he believes the transfer window should only stay active during the off-season
and not while competitive action is underway. "For Victor it's been an
exciting summer. I told him he should be very proud, as a footballer at 21, to
get the interest he has had." "Victor knows what he did from December
to the end of the season was a great level of performance.” He can take it on to
the next level and I am very excited to have Victor at Wigan,
and I hope we can keep him for many years to come. "I do feel there is a
need for a transfer window, it is beneficial, but I don't think it helps when
it is open when you are playing official games."
Victor Moses wants a permanent move to Chelsea so it’s left for the Latics to accept the highest
bidding prize from Chelsea
now or gets nothing when he eventually decides to move on a free transfer at
the end of the season.
