Athletico Madrid Beats Chelsea 4-1 in Monaco tonight, to win the Super Cup. The Spanish club took current Champions League winners cheaply as Radamel Falcao wreck havoc to put his team ahead with a clinical lobby over Petr Cech and David Luiz in just 6' minute. After hitting the crossbar which left Cech dangling in confusion.
The former Porto striker further scores three goals in the first half to lead Spain's Atletico Madrid to a 4-1 victory over Champions League winner Chelsea tonight. The 26-year-old Colombian was all over the Chelsea goal box, freely controlling his ball and making decisions at will without any tackling from the defenders. He stunned the English team with a clinical display of finishing at the Stade Louis II in Monte Carlo, beating goalkeeper Petr Cech in the 6th, 19th and 45th minutes for his second straight hat trick. The former Porto striker also found the net three times in Atletico's 4-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league few days ago.
Falcao scored a hat-trick and his fellow team mate Marca Miranda also scored before Gary Cahil pulls one back for Chelsea making it 4-1. Torres fails to impress because he couldn't have the chance to penetrate Athletico's well fortified defence line. The Spanish team displays superiority over the English club with 3 unreplied goals in the first half. While Falcao celebrated his efforts at the end of the game, it was a difficult evening for former Atletico captain Fernando Torres.
The Spanish player said before the game he wouldn't celebrate if he scored against the team he still supported, but never really threatened. Atletico fans honored him by chanting his name for about a minute after the game. Now Di Matteo needs to go back to his drawing board and learn from this defeat.
