I Don't Know Why Mourinho Sold Me - Former Chelsea Player Says

Former Chelsea midfielder Kelvin Debryne who now plays for German side Wolfsburg said he wish he was told the reason why the club let him leave. The 23-year-old Belgium international said Jose Mourinho never told him the reason for his lack of playing time at Chelsea before he was sold to Wolfsburg in January 2014 transfer window.

Kelvin before leaving Chelsea, made only 9 appearances for the Blues in all competition before moving to Wolfsburg in an £18 million (€24.6m) deal in January 2014, amid suggestions that Mourinho was unhappy with the midfielders attitude.

But Kelvin who is targeted by Manchester City this summer, insist that the Chelsea boss never discuss anything to him about his lack of playing time and that was what prompted his move to the Bundesliga.

“I still don’t understand why Jose Mourinho let me leave," he told reporters. "I never discussed it with him. I started to play and then it was finished.

“After four months, I asked him to leave. I didn’t want to stay at a club where I wasn’t even playing for 10 minutes. He said it was my attitude in training? It is an excuse he can use.

“But no-one can say that as they haven’t seen me train. I don’t think that in Belgium or in the Bundesliga they have complained about this. That is the way it is. I am not angry. When I was transferred to Wolfsburg, Chelsea got their money. Everyone was happy.”

Kelvin De Bruyne is now believed to be among the best young and talented midfielders in Europe. Playing for Wolfsburg, he has scored 15 goals with 25 assists in all competition and even helped his club won the DFB-Pokal.

According to reports, both Bayern Munich and Manchester City are said to have signify interest in signing Kelvin but he says he is not in a rush to decide about his future now.

“I have not caused any problems. I am going to take my time," he added.

“But the squad really has to be reinforced because it will be harder next season to play both the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

“If I leave, I have no preference where I go. In my head, it is 95 % I won’t go to Russia or Italy. It is not my style of play.

"But England, Spain, France or the Bundesliga, yes. They are the best leagues. There are some very good teams. That appeals to me.”

He might be eager to come back to the English Premier League, i still doubt if Kelvin will play under Jose Mourinho again. He is such a talent though.
