Chelsea lost to Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 but not yet out

At Donbass arena in Ukraine, Shakhtar Donetsk welcome the European Champions with 2 goals scored by Alex Teixeira and Fernandinho in both halves while Oscar help mitigate the damage by scoring a late consolation goal in the 88' minutes of the game which ends 2-1 in favour of the home side.

Meanwhile, Juventus held a 1-1 draw against Nordsjælland in Denmark which mark their third consecutive draw with only 3 points in the Group E table. According to Goal.com player ratings, Fernandinho was voted Top of the Match while Mikel Obi was Flop of the Match which i disagree strongly. The whole Chelsea team played very poor far behind what they played against Tottenham at White Hart Lane in the Barclays Premier League.

A poor defending from John Terry and a cheap giveaway ball from Hazard cost the two goals. Di Matteo made only two changes to his team that won Spurs 4-2 last Saturday. John Terry resume to the defence to push free scoring Cahill to the bench while Frank Lampard start the match today in place of Hazard.

The game kicks off shortly and in 3' minutes time, Alex Teixeira scored for the home side. The game was difficult for Chelsea after Lampard got injured in the early minutes of the game and was replaced by Hazard.

In the second half, the home side continue with the confidence of their home record to extend their lead in the 52' minutes through Fernandinho strike while Torres was latter replace with Daniel Sturridge after wasting all his chances on goal. Oscar latter scored a consolation goal with just 3 minutes to go and it was too late to fight back as the Ukrainian champions deservedly fought hard and extended their 11-month unbeaten home record.

Shakhtar move on top of Group E with 7 points while Chelsea drop down to second with 4 points, Juventus maintain third with 3 points and Nordsjælland fourth with only 2 points.
