Things are getting better and better for this guy Ryan Bertrand. The England international has reportedly signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea till 2017 according to Daily Mail. The 23-year-old defender has bagged a lot of achievements recently. The Champions league debut and subsequent Champions league winners medal, Representing team GB at the Olympics in London, Earning his first England cap against Italy, scoring his first senior goal for Chelsea's 2-3 defeat to Manchester city at the Community Shield cup. A place in Roy Hodgson's latest England squad, and now he extends his contract with the Club while his pay increases.
Bertrand is believed to be the next left-back replacement for Chelsea and England veteran Ashley Cole. But that could be in the next few years ahead because Cole's experience, intelligence, speed and agility is very important for the club now. The 31-year-old and former Arsenal left-back is aging but he is still in the prime of his career and despite an ankle injury picked up over the past weekend, he could
still be back.
However, the best that Bertrand can currently hope for now is playing time in the domestic cup competitions and perhaps a run-out occasionally in the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
