Champions League: Chelsea must face a tough title challenge.

History has it that, no club has successfully won the Champions League back to back on a roll even Barcelona, a club currently regarded as the best team in the world has not done it. Will Chelsea do it this
year? The chances are offcourse very slim.

Chelsea will definitely face a stiff competition in the Champions League as they look to defend their crown which they won against Bayern Munich four months ago in a penalty shoot-out. The Blues will welcome Italian champions Juventus at Stamford Bridge tomorrow Wednesday in their opening group E match. The two clubs are seen as favorites in the group but surprises might be inevitable.

However, Di Matteo knows the rest of the continent will up their game every time they play the defending champions because it has been the practice ever since. "Every opposition is going to play with extra motivation playing against the holders of the Champions League. So it makes our lives more difficult," the Blues coach said. "I'm aware no team has defended the trophy and I'm not surprised because it's such a difficult competition to win. "To win it twice in a row has proven impossible so far, because it's so competitive."

Juventus will be making their first appearance in the champions league after three years of absence, and they look very strong at the moment as they have not recorded any loss in Serie A game since the start of the season. Chelsea, who started with three classic wins but could only manage a goalless draw at local rivals Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, should be able to call on the services of John Terry despite the England defender suffering a knee injury at Loftus Road.

Additionally, Juan Mata trained at the weekend and was hoping to regain full fitness in time to feature in the game. Di Matteo could make only few changes to the side that held QPR to a goalless draw on
Saturday.
