Juan Mata and Oriol Romeo resumes training

The two Spaniards Mata and Romeo are back to training at Cobham today as Spain couldn't make it pass the group stages at the London 2012 Olympics. The two Chelsea players represent their country at the Olympics but things couldn't go well with the Spanish team. They played very poor unlike their senior squad who won the Euro cup last month. Spain crashed out of the Olympics group stages with just only one point. they lost two and drew their third match. Now the only Chelsea player still on International duty at the Olympics is Oscar the new signing who is still with the Brazilian Olympic squad. Meanwhile, Daniel Sturridge and Ryan Bertrand are still yet to arrive form the Olympics.

The Chelsea squad are training very hard in preparation for their Community Shield cup against last season's EPL title winners Manchester City. The Community shield cup is scheduled this coming Sunday on the 12th August.

Mata was last season's Player of the year, the first man to win the award in his first year at the club since Ruud Guilit in 1996. Mata will be keen to create an impact in other to secure a place in Di Matteo's plans ahead of the Community Shield cup tie this weekend. With the new arrival of attacking midfielders like Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, the competition for the attacking midfield role will be tense.

Romeo on his part had played only 24 times in Chelsea colours last season after signing from Barcelona. He was impressive with his calmness in possession and his ability to intercept opposition passes but its like the man Mikel Obi is still unshakable in the holding midfield. No wonder Frank Lampard had praise Mikel's holding role at Chelsea. Even the players would prefer Mikel holding the midfield to any other player presently. off to the Community Shield cup coming, lets see how the boys are fully prepared to go against Man city.
