Chelsea had been in talks
with Napoli over the sale of Edison Cavani. The
Uruguay star had been link
with a transfer move to London
with a price tag worth more than 30 million euros. But due to his shocking
performances at the Olympics, where he was largely anonymous and couldn’t do
much to help his Country, there had been speculations over Chelsea considering a reduction in his price tag.
His performance
will make any potential buyer reluctant to pay that price his agent said. According
to source from sport Mediaset, Napoli chairman De Laurentiis wants to cash in
and is trying to persuade Chelsea to take the
Uruguayan to London. Cavani has been said to be the right man to replace Drogba for now but unfortunately, it is thought that Chelsea would only like to
pay less due to its spending this summer while Napoli
wants more.
But due to Cavani’s recent performance at the Olympics, Napoli don’t
really have much bargaining power for the striker especially now that they look
so desperate to make the most out of their asset before his value fall.
