Roberto Di Matteo plans to off-load seven players this summer

Chelsea will have to sell off or loan players as club expects to sign two more, says Roberto Di Matteo. The Chelsea manager has said he will have to reduce the size of the club’s squad following the arrival of a number of expensive summer signings and with two more players expected to be acquired. Di Matteo did not confirm that Chelsea were hoping to make further additions But it is understood that a right winger striker and a right back will soon arrive Stamford Bridge.

Di Matteo has admitted that his most challenge now is to try and fit all these new players in their respective position and he would not like to leave a second XI warming the bench. we would have to sell some and let others on loan spell, he said. Players that will be going out on loan includes Thorgan Hazard (brother to Eden Hazard) and De Bruyne. Romelu Lukaku is to join fellow Belgian Thibault Courtois who has already signed a new loan agreement, while Chelsea would like to sell Gael Kakuta, Florent Malouda and there is a question mark over Michael Essien’s future also.
