Gary Cahill and David Luiz Fit for Champions League Final Showdown

Interesting news from Stamford Bridge reveals that both Gary Cahill and David Luiz has been pass fit for the champions league finals against Bayern Munich on Saturday. The duo defenders had revealed how they worked every day to get fit for the champions league finale. Luiz and Cahill both took part in training on Tuesday for the first time since picking up hamstring injuries within 10 days of each other last month.

The Saturday's Allianz arena showpiece would have been a sour sight if the duo were major doubts to play as Chelsea would have been without a recognized center-backs in the absence of suspended skipper John Terry and Branislav Ivanovich.

Luiz who was delighted to announce his return to fitness said ''i had treatment every day, in the morning, in the afternoon and evening. People don't know that but i was always hopeful and now I'm so I'm happy because i am 100% fit for training''

Cahill added ''we have spent every day and every afternoon working on it and treating it to get it right and the work's paid off. ''hopefully, i can get the training under my belt this week and be ready to go.''

luiz has not played for a month, with Cahill sitting out the last three weeks, there had been concern that neither will be match fit for the game on Saturday but the latter said i have missed games but i don't think at this stage of the season you are going to lose too much fitness.

Luiz reveals that he's got an added fitness from his team mate and compatriot Ramires. The Brazilian star will miss the final after getting booked in the last months encounter with Barcelona. Before the game against Barcelona, i told Ramires to play for him and for me, luiz said and it is now my turn, i will not only play the final for me, or for him, or our families, i will play for our nation Brazil.

Although as Cahill and Luiz looked like being pass fit for the final showdown, there is bad news for midfielder Florent Malouda who will be out after picking up a hamstring strain of his own in Saturday's Barclays premier league final game of the season against Blackburn.
