With the departure of Chelsea veteran striker Didier Drogba, and recently Petr Cech set to join EPL rival Arsenal, Chelsea will also be letting another of their big player leave.

According to reports from DailyMail.co.uk, it has been confirmed that Chelsea experience midfielder John Obi Mikel will leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Nigerian international has been at Chelsea since 2006 after a moved from Lyn Oslo to Chelsea fc was sanctioned. And now due to less playing time, the Nigerian who recently acquired a British Citizenship has revealed he want to leave.

Mikel's nine seasons stay at Chelsea was a huge success to his career having won 10 major trophies, including the Premier League, Europa League and Champions League respectively.

Even though he had just one premier league goal to his name in a famous 2-0 win against Fulham back in 2013, he recorded a solid 224 caps for Chelsea with good performances. The 29-year-old will really face strong competition in his role as holding midfielder if he decides to stay, with Nemanja Matic firmly preferred.

Former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan has now revealed that Mikel Obi will be joining him in the Gulf, as the midfielder gets ready to sign for Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates. Gyan told the Metro TV thus:

"I heard it this week that he has agreed terms with Al Ain and will most definitely be playing for us next season. it's great news for us because Mikel Obi is a very good player and very experienced. It will be exiting playing with him in the same team, because i believe both of us, with the help of our other colleagues, can do more for the club". The Ghanian international said.

So if Mikel eventually leave Chelsea, will he be missed?
