Former Bayern Munich and Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack believes that lack of trust may have been the major reason why Pep Guardiola opt to sign for Bayern Munich instead of Chelsea.
The sudden sacking of Roberto Di Matteo, the only manager that lead Chelsea to their first Champions League glory in history within few months of management has shown that Roman Abramovich could not lay his trust on any manager irrespective of their successful profile.
Guardiola left Barcelona in 2012 after a successful spell in charge and is currently in New York on a sabbatical. The 41- year old had been tipped to make a return to the game at one of several English clubs with Chelsea been at the front line. But unfortunately, they lose him to Bayern.
Meanwhile, Ballack thinks the signing of Guardiola illustrates how the Bundesliga is growing, and says that the atmosphere and set-up at Bayern will have influenced Guardiola's decision.
