Rafa says Chelsea players are not fit enough and many need a rest

At a Board meeting on Thursday, Rafa Benitez told Roman Abramovich that his Chelsea squad is not fit enough, fresh enough or big enough to compete with games ahead. Benitez made his point clear when asked to offer feedback on his first week in the job.
The club's interim manager also said it would be a nice decision if Chelsea prioritise a left-back, a defensive midfielder and a striker.

On the same vein, Leighton Baines who has been extensively scouted by Chelsea as a long term successor to Ashley Cole, who will leave on a free at the end of the season, has been a target in January transfer. Baines has been in brilliant form for Everton and would suit the attacking style Abramovich longs to see but a more immediate need is to bolster the squad in January.

Benitez look to rotate his squad in other to revive the players strength and agility but complains on the low number of players the club has currently. He has decide to drop Brazilian midfielder Oscar for today's trip to West Ham as he goes searching for his first goal and first win since he took over.
