Petr Cech: We can cope without John Terry

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech believes the team have sufficient cover to cope in the absence of injured captain John Terry. The shot stopper had said he is very Confidence in squad. John Terry was involved in a nasty collision in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Liverpool after Luis Suarez fell with all his body weight onto Terry's knee. The 31-year-old was obviously in a lot of pain and was seen bandaged up and walking with the aid of crutches following the game.

The Blues skipper had only just returned from his four-match ban for racially abusing QPR Anton Ferdinand, and the west Londoners will be hoping their talisman makes the swiftest of returns.

However, Cech feels Roberto Di Matteo has enough "quality defenders" to maintain his side's solid form but did admit it was a blow. "We managed to play games without him and we have players who will have a chance to impress," said the Czech Republic international.

Obviously, it's a pity we will lose him again but we have a large squad and quality defenders to deal with that. "It's important to have people who can step up. This is a chance for the others to shine and we are going to deal with his loss for him. "He knows what it takes to come back in good shape and as soon as possible. He always heals well and he will come back soon. "We saw him afterwards and wished him good luck. We hope the danger is not going to be severe and something that will just keep him out for a few weeks maximum."
