Chelsea captain John Terry was issued a four match ban by the English Football governing body this week as a penalty for abusing Anton Ferdinand on the pitch. But reports said, he is expected to play against Arsenal at 12:45 today at the Emirates Stadium because he has the right to appeal the four match ban by the FA.
Meanwhile, one player in doubt for this match is whether Frank Lampard will be featured having been suffering from an ankle injury. Daniel Sturridge with a hamstring is rated 50/50 leaving only Fernando Torres to play the striking role. Will Victor Moses will be given the opportunity to start today's game as it is one of the biggest match in this league campaign?
It's all rest on Di Matteo to decide which players he deemed fit to be featured against Gunners today. But if you were the coach, who'd be in your Chelsea XI v Arsenal?:
My Chelsea starting XI against Arsenal will be thus.
Goalkeeper
P. Cech
Defenders
B. Ivanovic - G. Cahill - J. Terry (c) - A. Cole
Defensive Midfielders
J. Mikel - Ramires
Attacking Midfielders
Hazard - Oscar - J. Mata
Striker
F. Torres
Subs:
Marin in for Mata
Lampard in for Ramires
or Bertrand in for Cole
Moses in for Torres
Torres seems to be the only choice for us once again but i think Moses can do well replacing him in the second half of the game. He performed pretty well against Wolves as a striker and scored a powerful header in the 71st minutes. He has also said he can play in the center if needed by the coach. "Changing position just comes naturally to me. I don't really mind where I play left, right, up front on my own or with another striker. I'm just versatile like that and I don't mind playing anywhere in attack." the Nigerian winger said.
Cahill and Luiz seems to do well playing alongside in the center-back but i don't think the Skipper will like the idea to be left out again for this one. Lampard will likely be fit to play today and i don't think its necessary because Mikel and Ramires partnership looks more natural to me and i can see that in the Stoke match.
Ramires stayed behind when Mikel went forward even as far as inside Stoke 16 yard box to strike. Mikel does the same for the Brazilian covering his wing to let him move forward which is something Lampard doesn't do enough when playing in that position. Moses should play this game unfailingly whether he starts or comes in as a substitute. His pace and threat to Arsenal defenders can keep less pressure on our defence. Or what did you think?
