Four Chelsea players have been shortlisted for the 2011/2012 Uefa Best Player award in Europe. Among the players shortlisted for the award are Petr Cech, Frank Lampard, Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba who has left Chelsea for Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua. These players were name among the 32 nominees as journalist from all 53 nations affiliated to UEFA voted for them.
On August 14, the top 3 front-runners will be announced with the winner decided in Monaco on August 30. Cech, Lampard and Drogba produced heroics in the last season's Champions League final as the Blues lifted their first European Cup title, while Torres also played a big role on the way to Munich as well as winning the Golden Boot with Spain at Euro 2012.
