We have been reading reports from Spain that Valencia and Chelsea captain John Terry are in talks over a contract signing that could see him move to Spain in January. How true is that news?
Spanish FIFA agent Francois Gallardo claimed on Thursday morning yesterday that Valencia had made a formal offer for Terry, and that the current Chelsea captain was considering leaving Stamford Bridge to Mastalla and Daily Mirror also confirm the report to be true. The former England captain has only 18 months remaining in his contract at Stamford Bridge with no news at to whether he would be given additional years.
Terry is also currently serving a four-match ban slapped by the FA for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand last year. Meanwhile, Chelsea have played down the speculation that they are looking to offload their own captain to Valencia. But the Spanish agent still claims that, he is at the fore front of the deal.
"Valencia are negotiating, and I am involved in person," Gallardo told Radio Intereconomia. "The offer is on his table. The player is out of contract in June and will not renew there for several reasons at Chelsea and he wants to come to Spain. Gallardo added: "Terry has problems.
They are insulting him and he is not taking it anymore." "He asked to leave. It's real. This has been going on for 15 days and two meetings have already took place. I think he will accept."
However, report from an insider claims, the club spokesman told Press Association Sport that the story about Terry's move to Valencia was "nonsense." Terry who is 31 has not been assured of a new contract deal from Chelsea. And if the condition remains the same as a result of the club's age policy rule, then i think he could possibly move. Too bad if we miss him too early. He is the team leader, an experience defender, strong, good but a troublemaker :)
