Chelsea are planning a £25m move for Barcelona's Sergio Busquets

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is planning to include Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets in his next big-money signing. The Russian billionaire has invested his money in talented players recently after the Blues emerge Champions of Europe.

Last summer, the club brings in a lot of talented midfielders with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Victor Moses to add up to their former excellence. But despite the big money shopping last summer, there are some areas the squad is still lacking.

The defensive midfield role is one area that needs to be improved. This is why the club has set sights on Busquets. The Spain international is willing to listen to offers from any big club and Chelsea plans to bargain with a £25million bid.

Meanwhile, we all understand that Barcelona might find it difficult to sell Busquets in January due to their Champions League commitment but i think a summer move for the Spanish international could hold water if the 24-year-old indicates he wishes to leave. Chelsea will definitely face a strong competition for Sergio Busquets as it is has been reported that, Manchester City are also prepared to launch their bid Should the Catalan club signal their willingness to sell.

The Premier League champions' chief scout Carlo Cancellieri recently revealed they were in the market for a new central midfielder and that Barcelona duo Busquets and Cesc Fabregas were their top targets. Barcelona last summer bought Alexander Song from Arsenal to compete with Sergio Busquets and since then, the Cameroonian has become Tito Vilanova first choice as a defensive midfielder.
