Micheal Essien insist he is not leaving Chelsea

Micheal Essien has cleared the growing uncertainty over his future at Stamford Bridge stating bluntly that, he has no intention of leaving the West London club. The Ghanaian player as well as Florent Malouda and Yossi Benayoun services has been open to offers by the club but Essien insist that he would rather fight his way to regain his place in the team squad.

Chelsea are attempting to reduce the size of their present squad and change their style of play, now with the influx of young talented and skillful players into the team with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Marco Marin and the recent two signings of Victor Moses and Cesar Azpilicueta, the club has really experienced a lot of improvement and success. It is really obvious that the Chelsea midfield is now choked with Mikel, Meireless and Lampard preferred in the holding role, Essien will really have a hard time to claim his place as he is no longer regarded as a first-team regular.

Since his recovery from series of serious kneel injuries, the 29 year-old Ghanian has lost his place in the squad. He was on the bench for the Champions league finals despite Chelsea having four of their players suspended. He has also been left out this season for the club's first three matches. This has brought a lot of concern among Ghanians, as the one time midfield ace continues to endure life on the bench at Stamford Bridge.

A call from former National star that, Essien should leave and find first team action in another club, but the veteran argued that he does not feel like the Chelsea "Forgotten man". He added that, "My intention is to stay and I' m looking forward to a new season; I still have two more years here. I'm still here, I'm still around".
