Thorgan Hazard in an interview with German newspaper said he hope his team falls in the same group with Chelsea in the Champions League where he will have the opportunity to prove that he is better than Eden hazard.
Thorgan who moved from Chelsea to Gladbach for €8 million this summer believes he plays better than Eden his elder brother and deserves the no. 10 jersey.
Eden, 24 who was crowned the PFA player of the year after winning the Premier League and League Cup with Chelsea in 2014-2015 season moved from Lillie Metropolis from French League to Chelsea in 2012.
Borrussia MonchenGladbach finished third in the Bundesliga which means the club will be playing in the Champions League next season and Thorgan hopes that he play against his brother in Europe and prove his worth.
“My desire is for Chelsea to be among Gladbach’s Champions League opponents this campaign” the 22-year-old told Bild.
“I’ve never played against my brother Eden competitively, that would be a great thing for our whole family". He added, chuckling: “Then we can see who the better Hazard is!”
The former Chelsea player who never recorded any cap for the senior team insist he would do his best to win himself the no. 10 jersey in his second spell in the Bundesliga football.
“The no. 10 position is my best position, but I do not know how the coach plans to play me,” Thorgan added. “I have shown that I can also play on the wing. “I learn a lot last season, I think I became a better player. I was able to play in one of the strongest leagues in the world.
“Of course, I hope that next season I will play a bit more, but I know that the competition for places is huge. This is normal at a big club. I will work hard and have to play well to assert myself”.
